Xenolord Palworld Raid Guide: How to Summon, Beat and Hatch the Apex Boss
Xenolord is Palworld's apex raid boss, a Dark/Dragon Pal with no wild spawn and no breeding pair. Your first one has to come from a raid summon. Craft a Xenolord's Slab from 4 Xenolord Slab Fragments, offer it at a Summoning Altar, and beat the boss inside a 10-minute timer to earn a Huge Dark Egg that hatches your own Xenolord. Fan databases put the base raid at roughly Level 60 to 65, with a separate Level 80 Ultra variant for endgame teams.
That is the short version. The longer version involves a fragment grind, a type matchup that trips up most players, and a boss that will flatten your base if you build the altar in the wrong place. Here is the full process, from empty inventory to hatched Xenolord.
What you need before you start
The fight is gated behind prep, so gather everything first.
- Palworld on the live 1.0.5 build (console tag 1.102.999, September 2026). Xenolord arrived with the Feybreak Island update.
- A Summoning Altar. Per fan database coverage, it unlocks at Level 33 and costs 100 Stone + 20 Paldium to build. Per fan database coverage, treat those figures as reported.
- 4 Xenolord Slab Fragments per attempt. These are farmed on Feybreak Island, either from dungeon chests or the Dark Cave of Feybreak expedition.
- A High-Quality Workbench to craft the slab itself.
- A raid-ready team. The fight is a DPS race, and the Ultra tier reportedly demands max-level, fully awakened, high-affection Pals.
The altar can be placed on open ground rather than inside your base footprint, and building it away from your production line is strongly advised. Fan sources do not list a separate player-level requirement to summon beyond the Level 33 altar unlock, so treat the altar as the gate.
If you are still filling out your base roster before committing to endgame content, our Palworld 1.0 Watering Guide covers the support Pals worth having around while you grind.
Farm Xenolord Slab Fragments on Feybreak Island
There are two routes to fragments, and both sit on Feybreak Island.
- Run Feybreak Island dungeons and loot the chests after clearing the dungeon boss. The same dungeons also drop Blazamut Ryu fragments, so a few runs stock you for two raids at once. Pull up the Palworld map and mark the dungeon entrances before you set out; the island's cave layout is easy to lose time in.
- Use the Pal Expedition Station and send Pals to the Dark Cave of Feybreak. Per timesaver.gg, the Dark Cave of Feybreak expedition has a Recommended Firepower of 476,000; weaker rosters return fewer fragments.
Treat expeditions as the hands-off route. Queue them and collect fragments while you do something else, then top up with dungeon runs when you are short. If you are mapping out Feybreak routes anyway, our Palworld Nightstar Sand Guide covers the same island.
Craft the slab and place your altar
Once you have four fragments, combine them into one Xenolord's Slab at a High-Quality Workbench.
Then build the Summoning Altar in a wide, open area well away from your main base. The fight can level nearby structures, and you do not want to rebuild your production line because a meteor landed on it.
Be precise about what gets spent. The slab is consumed the moment you offer it, and the altar is consumed by the summon as well, so each attempt costs you one slab plus one altar's worth of Stone and Paldium. Keep a chest of building materials next to the altar so you can rebuild between attempts without a trip back to storage.
Summon the "Invader from Space" raid
Offer the Xenolord's Slab at the Summoning Altar to start the base raid.
Expect a Level 60 to 65 boss with a 10-minute timer. The 1,316,000 HP figure is reported by both timesaver.gg and nexttier.pro, which agree on the number; treat it as fan-database reporting rather than an official Pocketpair stat. The timer itself is consistent across raid coverage.
Double-check that you are summoning with the base slab and not the Ultra. They are different items and different fights, and you do not want to discover that at minute one of a Level 80 encounter.
Build the right team for the type matchup
This is where most teams go wrong. Do not default to Dragon Pals just because Xenolord is part Dragon. Per timesaver.gg it resists that damage, so bring Ice instead, with Frostallion named as the single best counter.
- Frostallion as your primary Ice attacker.
- Gobfins filling your party for the Angry Shark attack buff if you are running a mounted-Ice strategy.
- High-level Ice Pals at your base such as Cryolinx, Quivern and Vanwyrm Cryst.
- Astegon for Dark resistance.
Start with Ice. One source, nexttier.pro, instead describes a double weakness to Dragon and Ice, which contradicts the resistance claim. If your Ice damage looks resisted on attempt one, swap Frostallion for your best Dragon on attempt two rather than rebuilding the whole team blind. If you want to plan that fallback roster in advance, our Palworld 1.0 Breeding Guide covers the new cakes and mutation system.
Exploit Xenolord's attack windows
Xenolord cycles ranged bursts, a signature meteor storm and constant reinforcements. Learn the loop before you burn consumables.
Fan coverage does not detail exact attack timings, add counts per wave or a specific DPS threshold, so the reliable guidance is structural rather than numerical. The reported windows are:
- While it fires projectiles. Dodge the volleys and punish the recovery rather than standing in the open to trade.
- While it winds up to fly. This is the most consistent damage window; commit your burst here.
- Between reinforcement waves. Clear adds rather than letting them stack, and keep the boss away from your structures.
Treat the meteor storm as the attack to disengage from, not tank.
Claim the drops and hatch your Xenolord
Per fan database coverage, base-raid rewards include:
- A Huge Dark Egg, which hatches your own Xenolord
- An Ultra Xenolord Slab
- 3 Ancient Civilization Cores
- 10 Ancient Civilization Parts
Hatch the Huge Dark Egg to get your first Xenolord without ever touching the Ultra tier. If you want to know where those cores and parts fit into the wider upgrade economy, our Palworld Ancient Civilization Parts & Cores guide breaks down every tier.
Xenolord is listed as Pal #196, Dark/Dragon with Gathering work suitability.
Take on the Xenolord (Ultra) raid
The Xenolord (Ultra) Slab summons a distinct Level 80 "Invader from Space (Ultra)" encounter, the hardest tier in the raid lineup. Per nexttier.pro, the Ultra variant has 1,964,000 HP on the same 10-minute timer and summons adds more frequently.
Players report needing a fully awakened, max-level, max-affection team to clear it. If you only want the Pal, skip it entirely: the base raid's egg already gives you Xenolord.
Common mistakes that waste your slabs
- Packing Dragon Pals because of the typing. The widely repeated advice is that Xenolord resists Dragon and Ice is the real answer, though sources disagree. Start with Ice and adjust on a second attempt if needed.
- Skipping the fragment grind and arriving at the altar with no slab, which means no fight at all.
- Treating it like a Tower Boss instead of a base-defense raid. It will flatten your camp if you build the altar next to it.
- Forgetting that both the slab and the altar are consumed per summon, and having to leave mid-prep to re-craft Stone and Paldium.
- Quoting a single HP or level figure as official. Pocketpair hasn't published official stats, and fan databases disagree on level and HP, so plan for the higher end.
