Quick Answer
Paradise Fish spawn at exactly one overworld node: Lake Brontes, in southern Saveilon (also spelled Saveillon) on the continent of Dagda. It is the rarest catch at that node, so a single Search rarely lands it.
The short version, in order:
Check the Calendar for a Spring Tide → travel Dagsion → Salacia Posthouse → Axion Gorge → Valhalla Mine → Search Lake Brontes across multiple turns → hand 1 fish to Ninae.
You need one Paradise Fish to clear Ninae's Hard Negotiation and recruit the "Angel of Death," so budget a trip to the lake on top of the Support and Renown thresholds her route demands. Each step below expands on that sequence.
Prerequisites
- Platform and version. Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave launched September 17, 2026, on Nintendo Switch 2 (Intelligent Systems / Nintendo). At the time of writing, that is the only platform version.
- A save you can reload freely. The drop is random, and you will likely need more than one attempt.
- A party around level 25. Roaming enemies appear along the route to southern Saveilon, and the region is tuned well above the early game.
- Access to the overworld map and the Search command. This is a node interaction, not a minigame. You Search the Lake Brontes fishing node.
- Route progress far enough to reach southern Saveilon, ideally with the carriage network unlocked from Dagsion.
- Ninae's recruitment thresholds met first, or in progress. See the route table in the hand-in section below.
Step 1: Check the Calendar for a Spring Tide Day
Spring Tide days are reported to raise the odds of Uncommon and Rare catches at fishing nodes, and the Paradise Fish is the rarest catch at Lake Brontes. Skipping this step is the single easiest way to waste a trip.
- Open the Calendar from the hub.
- Look ahead and identify the next Spring Tide day.
- Plan the trip so your Search attempts land on that day rather than travelling first and hoping.
If a Spring Tide is several days out, use the intervening time to grind the Support and Renown you will need for Ninae anyway. The two tasks feed into each other, so there is no reason to rush the lake.
Step 2: Travel From Dagsion to Southern Saveilon
The route matters here, because sources describe it in slightly different ways. The most reliable line runs as follows:
- Take the carriage from Dagsion to the Salacia Posthouse.
- Head south to Axion Gorge.
- Go east through the Valhalla Mine dungeon toward the lake.
That Axion Gorge to Valhalla Mine path is the route reported by Polygon and is the one to follow when other directions conflict.
An alternative exists: head south past Faun's Forest instead of through the mine. This avoids the dungeon, but it is not the faster line. Take it only if you would rather skip the fights inside Valhalla Mine.
Treat the lake's position "near Megaira/Megaria" as a rough waypoint only. Sources disagree on the spelling and the exact direction, so lean on the Axion Gorge to Valhalla Mine path rather than chasing the landmark name.
Fight or avoid roaming enemies as you go. This is exactly why the level 25 recommendation exists.
Step 3: Search the Lake Brontes Node
Lake Brontes is a fishing node on the south side of Saveilon. Interact with it and use the Search command.
- Save immediately before each Search attempt.
- Search the node.
- If the result is not the Paradise Fish, reload that save and repeat.
Paradise Fish is the rarest material at this node, so a single Search failing is normal, not a bug. Treat the first attempt as a formality.
The exact attempt cap and node refresh behavior are not documented by the sources reviewed here. The practical instruction is to keep searching and reloading until the fish lands, rather than assuming a fixed number of tries per visit.
Tier labels vary by outlet. Game Rant calls the Paradise Fish "Very Rare," while TheGamer calls it "Rare," but every source agrees it is the hardest fish to pull from this node. Do not second-guess your location because of the label.
Step 4: Hand the Fish to Ninae and Complete the Negotiation
Ninae is a recruitable temple vulkan known as the "Angel of Death." She is a strong pickup for any route, which is why the fish is worth the trouble.
Meet the Support and Renown thresholds first:
| Route | Support Requirement | Renown Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Dietrich | Support Lv 3 | Renown Lv 8 |
| Leda | Support Lv 3 | Renown Lv 8 |
| Theodora | Support Lv 3 | Renown Lv 6 |
The request itself is a Hard Negotiation for 1 Paradise Fish.
Do not spend the fish before this. Cooking at feast nodes, trading with the Vandahl Trading Co., and luring Orunises' mounts are all legitimate secondary uses, but recruitment is the one that is hard to undo. Bank one fish for Ninae and treat anything extra as free.
Reported but Unverified
The following claims come from single sources and are not corroborated elsewhere. Verify them in your own save before relying on them.
- Theodora's battalion shortcut. On Theodora's route, a battalion can reportedly be dispatched to Lake Brontes to search for items, skipping the level 25 trek and the Valhalla Mine dungeon. Confirm the dispatch option appears for Lake Brontes before skipping the trek in person; if it does not, travel manually.
- The Support and Renown thresholds in the table above. These values come from a single outlet and should be treated as approximate.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Searching once and leaving. The Paradise Fish is the rarest catch at the node. One failed Search means nothing.
- Reloading the wrong save. Save before each Search attempt, not after a junk result. The roll is what you are re-rolling.
- Travelling underlevelled. The route to southern Saveilon runs through roaming enemies. Coming in at level 25 or so is the difference between a resource run and a wipe.
- Ignoring the Calendar. Searching on a normal day instead of a Spring Tide day throws away your best odds for no reason.
- Getting lost around Megaira/Megaria. Sources disagree on the spelling and direction of this landmark. Follow Axion Gorge to Valhalla Mine and use the landmark only as loose confirmation that you are close.
- Assuming it is developer-confirmed. No official Nintendo page documents the Paradise Fish location. The location and route come from outlets including Polygon, TheGamer, Game Rant, VGC, and Siliconera. They are accurate in practice, but verify in your own save if something does not match.
- Spending your only fish on cooking or trading. Secondary uses are fine with a surplus. Your first fish belongs to Ninae.
Bank a Spare Fish and Finish Ninae's Build
Once Ninae is recruited, grab a second Paradise Fish on your next Spring Tide visit. The secondary uses, including feast cooking, Vandahl Trading Co. trades, and luring Orunises' mounts, are worth having stock for, and a spare removes any pressure the next time a rare material request comes up.
If you are running multiple routes, note that Theodora's route carries both the lowest reported Renown requirement and the battalion shortcut, making her the cheapest path to Ninae if you are recruiting deliberately rather than organically.
Finally, check the rest of your fishing node coverage against a full fish-location list. Lake Brontes is the most location-locked node in the game, but the other rare materials follow the same Spring Tide logic, so the habit of planning around the Calendar pays off well beyond this one fish.
