Where to Find Every Phantom Edge in Phantom Blade Zero

Phantom Blade Zero every phantom edge is a dedicated secondary-weapon slot, and you collect them through three routes: elite and story boss rewards, side-quest completions, and region or exploration finds, including destructible walls that only certain Edges can break. Tracking down every Phantom Edge means working all three in order rather than sweeping a region once.

Your first stop is the rock-wall caverns of the opening region, where the Tiger Cannon waits behind an early elite encounter. Claim it early, because Tiger Cannon can be used to blow up rock walls and explore caverns. From there, complete the "Purge the Sect" questline for the Feather Bow, then push the main story bosses in each region.

One caveat before you start: no single source agrees on the total. Documented lists run from 14 to 25 entries, though all of these figures come from community lists rather than a single authoritative count, and S-GAME's director cited roughly 20 secondary weapons before launch. Treat any "all Phantom Edges" list, including this one, as a working checklist rather than a definitive count.

What You Need Before You Start

  • Phantom Blade Zero on PS5 or PC via Steam or the Epic Games Store. The game launched October 29, 2026, with the Americas unlocking the evening of October 28.
  • Day-one patch 1.301.524 (roughly 5GB) installed. It improves performance and ray tracing, so install it before a long collection run.
  • The Tiger Cannon Phantom Edge before you attempt rock-wall caverns. Some routes are physically sealed without it.
  • Progress past the opening story bosses. Several Edges are boss rewards, so check your inventory after every major fight.
  • Patience with the count. Four different totals circulate, so verify each entry in your own inventory instead of trusting one list.

If you are still deciding where to play, our coverage of Phantom Blade Zero's launch covers how the PC version performed.

Understand What a Phantom Edge Actually Is

Phantom Edges occupy their own slot alongside your main weapon and the Sha-chi system. They are distinct from Sha-chi weapons, not a synonym for them, and confusing the two sends you looking in the wrong menu.

They can be swapped mid-combo, which makes them a tactical layer in the parry-and-swap combat loop rather than a fixed loadout choice. Game8 categorises them into five types with different combat roles:

Type Role
Ranged Projectile pressure at distance
Destructive Breaks walls and opens routes
Martial Close-quarters combo tools
Artifice Utility and gadget effects
Summoning Calls in additional attackers

Edges can also be upgraded through the Soul Temper system, documented by Maxroll, so a low-tier Edge you find early is not dead weight later.

Every Named Phantom Edge and Where to Find It

The table below collects every Edge with a documented unlock route. Where no region has been confirmed yet, the entry says so rather than guessing.

Edge Type Where and how to find it
Tiger Cannon Destructive Opening region, from an early elite encounter. Blows up rock walls and opens the cavern routes holding further finds.
Feather Bow Ranged Complete the "Purge the Sect" questline.
Hunter's Chain Sickle Martial Dedicated quest unlock route documented by Game Rant. Follow the quest rather than hunting for a chest.
Illusory Pipa Artifice Requires a repair step rather than a world pickup. Treat it as a quest chain.
War Wagon Not yet confirmed Has an individual unlock guide; region not yet confirmed.

Several further Edges are documented by name, including Tiger Cannon, Feather Bow, Hunter's Chain Sickle, Illusory Pipa and War Wagon. That gap is where your own playthrough fills in the list.

Follow the Collection Route in Order

Read the sections below as a sequence. Each step assumes you have finished the one before it.

Step 1: Claim Tiger Cannon and open the caverns. Clear the early elite encounter in the opening region, take the Tiger Cannon, then sweep the rock-wall caverns it unlocks before moving on.

Step 2: Clear the side quests in the same region. Complete "Purge the Sect" for the Feather Bow, follow the Hunter's Chain Sickle questline, and begin the Illusory Pipa repair chain. Quest-heavy regions reward you for clearing side content early. If you are working through the early hub, our guides on How to Complete Yu'er's Flesh Lily and the Forest Outpost Courtyard key location both cover quest structures that gate optional rewards.

Step 3: Work the story and elite bosses region by region. Boss defeats are the route S-GAME's director emphasised before launch, and they are the most reliably documented unlocks. Check your inventory immediately after each major fight, and note which boss dropped what.

Step 4: Re-sweep earlier regions after every new Destructive Edge. Walls you walked past at the start may now be breakable. This is also when the War Wagon guide becomes worth following in full.

For players still filling out the early map, our walkthroughs for Where to Find Pei in Phantom Blade Zero, How to Complete A Mother's Heart quest and Phantom Blade Zero: All Medicine Locations for 'Apprentice Healer' all sit in the same early regions where exploration Edges surface.

Build a Working Checklist Instead of Trusting One Count

Documented totals conflict, and you should know exactly how before you chase a number:

Figure Source basis
14 Individually documented, named entries
~20 Director's pre-launch estimate of secondary weapons
24 One outlet's list
25 Described elsewhere as an official announcement

Treat 25 as the announced ceiling and 14 as the number of named, individually documented Edges. The gap between them is where your own playthrough fills in the list.

  1. Log every Edge you own by type: Ranged, Destructive, Martial, Artifice, Summoning.
  2. Note the region and unlock route for each one you find.
  3. When a guide claims a specific total, record which source it came from rather than repeating it as fact.

If you want a single hub for patch notes, community findings and weapon discussion, the Phantom Blade Zero game page collects it in one place.

Common Mistakes That Stall Your Collection

  • Confusing Phantom Edges with Sha-chi weapons. They are separate systems in separate slots. Mixing them up wastes hours in the wrong menu.
  • Skipping Tiger Cannon. Players conclude a region is "finished" while cavern routes remain sealed behind breakable walls.
  • Treating the Illusory Pipa as a world pickup. It requires a repair step, so hunting for it as an object will not work.
  • Believing one guide's "all N" list is exhaustive. Totals range from 14 to 25 across sources.
  • Repeating uncorroborated mechanical claims. Specific figures such as stance-break percentage boosts appear only in low-authority aggregator guides and are not confirmed by IGN, Game8, Maxroll or PlayStation Blog. Leave them out of your notes.

Pair Your Edges With Sha-chi Weapons and Main Weapons

Once you have a spread of Edges, test them against the Sha-chi secondary-weapon system to find combinations that suit the parry-and-swap loop. The build is three parts: main weapon, Sha-chi weapon, Phantom Edge. Experiment with which Edge type covers the gap your main weapon leaves.

Edges can be upgraded through the Soul Temper system. A fully tempered Tiger Cannon or Feather Bow will carry you further than a dozen untouched finds.

Finally, revisit boss arenas and sealed caverns after each major unlock.
