Apprentice Healer Medicine Locations in Phantom Blade Zero

The short answer: 'Apprentice Healer' sends Soul to gather medicinal herbs for Yu'er, a brewer's daughter from Pangzhen, and the confirmed pickup is Blood-Stopper Vine in Weeping Creek Valley, the first open area after the prologue. The Flesh Lily is tracked as its own quest in Phantom Blade Zero, with a dedicated location guide covering where to find it. Work the valley in order, then hand in, because the quest chains directly into 'Flesh Lily' and then 'A Healer's Mercy'.

Phantom Blade Zero is a dark-wuxia action RPG from developer and publisher S-Game, directed by Qiwei "Soulframe" Liang, available on PS5 (PS5 Pro Enhanced) and PC via Steam; Steam lists the game at 59,99€ with a 28 Oct, 2026 store date, while S-Game's site gives a release date of 10/29/2026.

What you need before you start

  • Phantom Blade Zero on PS5 or PC via Steam.
  • Progress past the prologue chapters to reach Weeping Creek Valley, the first playable open area.
  • Meet Yu'er, the brewer's daughter from Pangzhen, at the outpost to start 'Apprentice Healer'.
  • Begin unfogging the Weeping Creek Valley map. The valley is uncovered progressively, and herb hunting is far easier once the relevant stretches are visible.

Step 1: Unfog Weeping Creek Valley before you hunt

Weeping Creek Valley is the first playable area after the prologue chapters, and its map can be unfogged by unlocking the full Weeping Creek Valley map (see Polygon's guide to unfogging the first map).

  1. Push through the early quests in the area. 'Against the Flow' and 'Steel and Steam' are among the early side content that opens up traversal.
  2. Open Map → Weeping Creek Valley after each new region reveal and check which quadrants are still dark.
  3. Only start hunting a specific herb once its corner of the valley is visible.

Step 2: Start 'Apprentice Healer' and accept Yu'er's request

Find Yu'er at the outpost in Weeping Creek Valley. She escaped Pangzhen to find a rare ingredient for a medicine to cure her father's unexplained sickness, and she offers to help Soul on his journey in return.

  1. Talk through her dialogue until the quest is logged.
  2. Confirm the objective in your quest log.
  3. Note that the hunt is split across multiple quest stages, not one checklist. The Flesh Lily appears as its own step later.

Step 3: Collect the Blood-Stopper Vine

Blood-Stopper Vine is the confirmed medicinal herb for this quest, and the wiki places it in Weeping Creek Valley.

  1. Open Map → Weeping Creek Valley once the relevant stretch is unfogged.
  2. Work the valley floor and creek edges systematically rather than crisscrossing.
  3. Grab it during general exploration so you are not backtracking later.

Treat this as the anchor pickup. Once the vine is in your inventory, move on to the lily stage.

Step 4: Track down the Flesh Lily on its own quest step

The Flesh Lily is tracked as its own quest in Phantom Blade Zero, with a dedicated location guide covering where to find it. Our walkthrough for How to Complete Yu'er's Flesh Lily covers the precise spot and the step that triggers it.

  1. Check your quest log for the lily stage before you search.
  2. Follow the step update that appears after your earlier herb pickups.

Step 5: Hand in the herbs and follow the chain

Return to Yu'er once the herbs are collected to close out 'Apprentice Healer'. Her storyline continues directly into 'A Healer's Mercy', where Soul must find four wounded thieves at the Thieves' Camp.

Treat the herb hunt as the first link in a multi-stage chain rather than a standalone errand. Finishing the medicine step is what opens the rescue step.

Troubleshooting: when the quest stalls

  • Skipping the map unfog. Herb hunting in dark quadrants wastes time you could spend revealing the map.
  • Ignoring Yu'er early. The quest is easy to miss in the opening area, and the chain into 'A Healer's Mercy' only opens once you engage with her.
  • Trusting search-engine snippets for directions. Queries for the quest return mostly unrelated pages. Dedicated wiki and guide pages are the reliable route.

After the herbs: A Healer's Mercy and the Thieves' Camp

With the herbs delivered, follow Yu'er's questline into 'A Healer's Mercy' and locate the four wounded thieves at the Thieves' Camp. That rescue closes the arc that began with a brewer's daughter asking for help at an outpost.

Keep unfogging Weeping Creek Valley afterward to pick up the remaining early side quests before you move on to the next region. The valley rewards thorough exploration, and the herb hunt is the clearest proof: the medicine locations for Apprentice Healer sit inside ground you have to uncover yourself.

Other Weeping Creek Valley side content

If you are sweeping the outpost anyway, the jail in the same area hides a locked door. Our guide to Where to Find the Cell Key covers that pickup, and the Phantom Blade Zero Forest Outpost Courtyard key guide explains what the nearby locked gate unlocks.
