ARC Raiders: 'Someone Else's Shoes' Quest Walkthrough - All Android Locations and the Medical Storage Key Reward
'Someone Else's Shoes' is a short three-objective quest on the Stella Montis map, added in the Frozen Trail 2.0 update. Scan any android, find the specific android lying on a bed in Research Lab 3 on the upper floor of the Medical Research building, then reach the Control Room in the Western Tunnels and search it for clues. Hand the quest in to Celeste in Speranza to earn the Stella Montis Medical Storage key, 3x Herbal Bandages, and 2x Shield Rechargers.
What You Need
ARC Raiders is a multiplayer extraction shooter from Embark Studios, and this quest is part of the Frozen Trail 2.0 update, which added 22 new quests alongside the Pendola Pass map, new enemies, and a revamped Skill Tree. Here is what you need before you deploy:
- ARC Raiders on PC, PS5, or Xbox Series X/S, updated to the Frozen Trail 2.0 build. The quest does not exist in earlier versions.
- Access to the Stella Montis map. Unlocking Stella Montis is tied to the game's earlier quest progression and is out of scope for this guide; if the map does not appear in your deployment list, complete the introductory quest chain that precedes Frozen Trail 2.0's Stella Montis content before continuing.
- A standard loadout you are comfortable losing. This is an extraction shooter, so bring gear you can afford to drop, plus enough healing to survive a fight on the way to the Control Room.
- No specific level, item, or key is required to start the quest. The Medical Storage key is the reward, not a prerequisite.
One note before you start: exact quest-step locations are documented by walkthrough outlets such as GameRant, GameSpot/Yahoo, and Sportskeeda, not by an official Embark quest page. Treat the route below as the community-verified path rather than an officially published one.
Step 1: Start at the Medical Research POI and Scan Your First Android
Deploy to Stella Montis and head for the Medical Research building on the southwest side of the map.
Objective 1 is "Scan Any Android on Stella Montis." Technically you can scan one at almost any POI, but starting here avoids backtracking because Objective 2 is inside this same building.
Androids are scattered around the Medical Research exterior and interior. Approach one and use the scan prompt (the standard hold-to-interact input bound to your interact key) until the objective ticks off. Confirm the objective is marked complete in your quest tracker before moving on.
If you land far from Medical Research, you can still clear the scan objective en route. Just make sure you finish at Medical Research, since that is where the next step takes place.

Step 2: Find the Android in Research Lab 3
Stay in the Medical Research building and head to the upper floor via the internal stairs or elevator. Research Lab 3 is in the southern section of that upper floor, marked by the room's lab signage.
The target android is lying on a hospital bed or stretcher. Walk up and hold the interact input to complete Objective 2. Some guides call it a bed, others a stretcher; it is the same object, so look for the android lying flat in the lab.
Clear or avoid nearby enemies before interacting so you are not interrupted mid-animation. The interaction locks you in place briefly, and taking fire during it can cost you the run.
Step 3: Reach the Control Room in the Western Tunnels
Objective 3 sends you to the Control Room in the Western Tunnels, in the northwest corner of Stella Montis. There are two viable approaches, and both lead to the same destination:
- Enter via the Loading Bay POI on the bottom floor, just north of the Control Room, and follow the tunnel corridor south toward the Western Tunnel marker on your compass.
- Come in from the Lobby Metro extraction point and follow the subway tracks northwest toward the Western Tunnel POI marker.
Pick whichever is closer to your spawn or extraction plan. The two routes are complementary rather than conflicting, so there is no wrong choice here. Use the Western Tunnel POI marker on your map and compass to confirm you are heading the right way.
Step 4: Search the Control Room and Retrieve the Security Footage
Inside the Control Room, locate the subway control console. Hold the interact input on the console to search for clues and retrieve the security footage, which completes the final objective.
Watch your surroundings. The Control Room is a natural chokepoint, and other players or ARC enemies may contest it while you are locked into the interaction. Clear the room first if you can, or bring a teammate to watch the door.

Step 5: Return to Speranza and Turn In to Celeste
Extract from Stella Montis alive. The quest only pays out if you make it back.
In Speranza, speak with Celeste to hand in the quest. Your rewards are:
| Reward | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Stella Montis Medical Storage key | 1 |
| Herbal Bandages | 3 |
| Shield Rechargers | 2 |
The Medical Storage key is the headline reward. It opens medical loot on Stella Montis and persists in your inventory across runs, so you can reuse it on subsequent deployments rather than consuming it on first use. Bank it before your next run rather than carrying it into a fight you might not walk away from.
If Something Goes Wrong
- You die mid-quest. Objective progress on 'Someone Else's Shoes' does not persist through death; if you are killed before extracting, you will need to redo any objectives that were not yet turned in. Bank the quest by extracting and handing in to Celeste as soon as the final objective is complete.
- Your interaction is interrupted. If you take fire during the scan, the bed interaction, or the console search, the hold-to-interact animation cancels and the objective will not register. Break contact, heal, and re-approach the object to restart the interaction.
- You cannot find the map or quest. If Stella Montis is not in your deployment list, or 'Someone Else's Shoes' does not appear in your quest log, you are not on the Frozen Trail 2.0 build or have not yet completed the prerequisite quest chain. Verify your game version before troubleshooting the route.
- You are unsure about the key. The Medical Storage key is a persistent item, not a single-use consumable. Once earned, it stays in your inventory and can be used to open the same medical storage on every Stella Montis run.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Scanning a random android far from Medical Research and then having to trek across the map. Start at Medical Research so Objective 1 and Objective 2 chain together.
- Searching the ground floor of Medical Research for Research Lab 3. It is on the upper floor, southern section.
- Assuming the "bed" and "stretcher" descriptions are two different androids. They are the same target, so do not keep hunting after you have interacted.
- Treating the two Control Room routes as conflicting directions. The Loading Bay and Lobby Metro approaches both reach the same room, so use whichever suits your route.
- Dying before extraction. The rewards, including the key, are only granted on turn-in to Celeste in Speranza.
Putting the Medical Storage Key to Work on Stella Montis
Take the Stella Montis Medical Storage key into your next Stella Montis run and open the medical storage it unlocks for high-value consumables. It persists in your inventory, so it keeps paying out as long as you remember to bring it.
If you enjoyed this quest's android-hunting theme, the earlier 'In My Image' quest also sends you searching androids on Stella Montis, making it a natural follow-up. With 22 new quests in Frozen Trail 2.0, you can chain 'Someone Else's Shoes' into nearby Stella Montis objectives so a single deployment clears several quest steps at once. Plan your route around the Medical Research and Western Tunnels clusters, bank the key, and move on to the next objective in the update.
