Palworld TCG Nears 11 Million Packs as Legends Awaken Arrives October 30

Update: Palworld TCG Reprints Kick In as Sealed Prices Cool Before Legends Awaken (26 October 2026)

Palworld TCG's 11 Million Packs: A Shipment Projection, Not a Sales Story

Five days from now, the Palworld TCG gets its second booster. Legends Awaken arrives October 30. But the more interesting number heading into that launch isn't the release date - it's 11 million.

That figure comes from Bushiroad, the publisher and developer behind the Palworld OFFICIAL CARD GAME, which announced on October 7 that cumulative global planned shipments of its first two booster packs are projected to pass 11 million packs by early November.

It's worth being precise about what that number is, because the distinction will shape how the next few months are read. The 11 million is a forward-looking shipment projection covering both Dawn of Palpagos (BP01) and Legends Awaken (BP02). It is not a completed sales total. The confirmed sales figure, announced separately by Bushiroad, is 4.4 million packs for Dawn of Palpagos alone.

That gap between shipped and sold is the whole story of the Palworld TCG right now: a licensed card game whose first set, Dawn of Palpagos, sold out almost everywhere and drew 3.5 million preorders before release day, and a second set about to test whether the audience is durable or just curious.

From Announcement to 11 Million Packs in Ten Months

The timeline is short even by trading card game standards. Bushiroad revealed the project at its New Year Grand Presentation on January 12, 2026, then confirmed it was in production at the Bushiroad English Conference Winter 2026 on February 6. The game launched simultaneously worldwide on July 30, 2026, in English, Japanese and Simplified Chinese.

For context on the IP behind it, Palworld itself has been one of the defining success stories of the decade: Pocketpair's monster-taming survival title has officially surpassed 40 million players, a figure reached even before its full 1.0 launch. Bushiroad is capitalizing on that reach with a two-player competitive TCG in which players deploy Pals, gather resources and build bases, using a main deck and a separate soul deck.

The licensing split matters here. Pocketpair owns the Palworld IP. Bushiroad publishes and develops the card game. That arrangement puts a veteran TCG house - the company behind Cardfight!! Vanguard and Weiss Schwarz - in charge of turning a video game audience into a paper one.

Dawn of Palpagos Was a Sellout, and the 2nd Edition Is Landing Now

The first set did not ease into the market. Bushiroad reported roughly 3.5 million packs preordered before release day, followed by shortages and a restock. The company then confirmed a 2nd Edition reprint, which ships in late October 2026 and is marked with a Roman numeral II in the bottom-right corner of every card.

That marking is more than a formality. For players, the II identifies a reprint and signals a fresh supply at a moment when the original print has been hard to find.

The secondary market has already cooled from its launch peak. Sealed booster boxes of Dawn of Palpagos sit at roughly $117.82 on TCGplayer and $121.49 in eBay sold listings, according to the cardlogs Palworld TCG Guide (October 2026), ten weeks after launch, according to community market trackers. Bulk cards have softened while chase cards have held their value - a normal post-launch pattern, and a sign that the set's desirable pulls are doing the work rather than pure scarcity.

Elsewhere on the product side, Sleeve & Card Set Vol. 1, which includes 10 exclusive promo cards, was delayed to October 16, 2026.

What Legends Awaken Actually Adds

Legends Awaken arrives worldwide on October 30 with 100 base card types plus parallels, seven cards per pack and twelve packs per box.

The headline mechanic is the debut of the <Legendary> trait, led by Jetragon, Frostallion and Frostallion Noct. The rule limits players to one copy of each Legendary Pal in their base - a constraint that changes deckbuilding in a meaningful way. In a game where redundancy is usually how you stabilize a strategy, being capped at a single copy forces players to build around a Legendary rather than lean on it. Expect deck lists to skew toward support packages that protect or recur those pieces.

The set also introduces keyword abilities including Legendary, Brave, Retaliate, Breakthrough and Serious, which give the new cards their tactical identities beyond raw stats. For Palworld video game players moving into the card game for the first time, that trait system is the clearest bridge between the two: the same logic of building a roster around a few standout Pals carries over to the table.

The community response has been substantial for a game this young. Global attendance at official demo sessions, which began in Japan and expanded to events and card shops worldwide, has surpassed 24,000 participants. The official card game account has also passed 30,000 cumulative followers, a milestone Bushiroad marked with a giveaway ahead of launch.

Organized Play Is the Real Test for the Palworld TCG

Bushiroad is recruiting Official Bushiroad Stores to host sanctioned events, has published Tournament Milestone Flairs, and is running the Masters League 26-27 program as the competitive backbone.

Those are the right moves, and they matter more than any shipment figure. Trading card games do not survive on launch sales; they survive on weekly turnout. A player who buys a box and has nowhere to play it becomes a former player within a set or two. Sanctioned events, store support and a league structure are what convert a purchase into a habit.

This is where the Palworld TCG's footprint still lags its commercial scale. Thirty thousand followers is a respectable number for a new account, but it is modest against 11 million projected packs. The gap between how many cards are shipping and how many people are visibly talking about them is the number to watch over the next quarter.

The Roadmap Runs Through December and Beyond

Bushiroad has already dated the next wave. Two Eternal Ascent trial decks - Red/Green and Blue/Purple - launch December 18, 2026, each containing 60 cards (50 main deck, 10 soul deck) plus a playmat, play guide, life counter and material/ingredient counter. Trial decks are the traditional on-ramp for new players, and shipping two at once signals an intent to seed local scenes rather than just sell boosters.

A third booster, Eternal Ascent, has also been announced with 100 card types (RR, R, U, C) plus parallels across Red, Blue, Green, Purple and Colorless.

Taken together, the cadence is telling. A booster in July, a second in October, and trial decks in December, with a third booster, Eternal Ascent, announced but without a confirmed date: that is the release rhythm of a publisher treating Palworld as a pillar alongside its established games, not a one-off licensing experiment.

What Five Days Will Tell Us

Legends Awaken is the first real stress test of whether a sellout launch converts into a sustained player base.

After October 30, the questions get simpler and harder. Does BP02 sell through, or does it sit in warehouses behind that shipment projection? Do sanctioned store events fill up, or do the trial decks in December arrive to find empty tables? The Palworld TCG has already proven it can print and ship at scale. The next five days start the work of proving people are still playing.
