How to Get Xenolord in Palworld: Complete Raid Boss Guide

Unlocking the Expedition Station and Farming Slab Fragments

Before you can even think about summoning Xenolord, you need access to the Expedition Station. This structure becomes available at a very high Technology level, you will need to be level 60 or above and have invested Technology Points to unlock it. Build the station at your base, then upgrade it to accommodate higher-tier expeditions.

The key resource for summoning Xenolord is the Xenolord Slab Fragment. These fragments are earned exclusively by completing high-level expeditions, specifically those labeled "Hard" or "Ultra." Each successful run yields between five and ten fragments, though the exact drop rate can vary. Community reports confirm 5, 10 fragments per Hard run and 10, 15 per Ultra run. You will need to run these expeditions multiple times to gather enough for a full slab (usually 20 fragments for the regular slab, more for the Ultra variant).

Expeditions are not a walk in the park. You will need a strong squad of combat Pals to send out. Focus on Pals that counter Dragon and Dark types, Ice Pals like Frostallion or Vanwyrm are excellent choices. Also stockpile expedition fuel (such as power generator materials) so you can keep your station running continuously.

Crafting the Xenolord Slab and Summoning the Raid

Once you have enough Xenolord Slab Fragments, head to a Pal Production Assembly Line. Interact with it and craft a Xenolord Slab (or a Xenolord Ultra Slab if you are aiming for the harder variant). The Ultra slab requires more fragments and yields a significantly tougher boss, but it also drops better loot.

Next, you need a Summoning Altar. This is another late-game structure unlocked through Technology Points. Place it in a flat, open area at your base, you will want plenty of room to move during the fight. With the Slab in your inventory, approach the altar and interact with it. The slab will be consumed, and Xenolord will spawn immediately.

Be warned: once summoned, the boss will not despawn unless you defeat it or die. Make sure you are fully prepared before activating the altar.

Preparing for the Xenolord Boss Fight

Xenolord is a level 60+ raid boss with a terrifying moveset of Dark and Dragon area-of-effect attacks. Your preparation can make the difference between victory and a shattered base.

Team Composition: Bring Pals that resist or counter Xenolord's typing. Ice Pals deal super-effective damage against Dragon, while other Dark Pals may struggle due to resistance. Recommended picks include Frostallion, Jormuntide Ignis, or Shadowbeak. Equip your party with high-level Pals, ideally level 55 or above.

Equipment: Wear full Pal Metal Armor for maximum defense. For weapons, bring a Legendary Rocket Launcher for burst damage, an Assault Rifle for sustained fire, and a Beam Sword for close-range hits. Stock up on Med Kits, food buffs, and stat-boosting items.

Item Purpose Recommendation
Pal Metal Armor Highest physical and elemental defense Crafted at Legendary workbench
Legendary Rocket Launcher Massive burst damage Best for hitting weak points
Assault Rifle Consistent DPS Good for interrupting attacks
Beam Sword Fast melee option Use during boss cooldown phases
Med Kits & Food Buffs Healing and stat boosts Carry at least 10 of each

Base Defense: Xenolord's attacks will shred unprotected structures. Build walls, traps, and campfires around your Summoning Altar area. Set your Pals to the "Base Defense" task via the Monitoring Stand, so they automatically attack Xenolord and its minions. Keep your own Pal squad spread out to avoid simultaneous AoE blasts.

Fight Tactics: Xenolord is highly mobile. Use your own flying mount to dodge its charged attacks. When it lands, call in your heavy hitters. Focus on breaking its stamina and wailing on it during cooldown phases. The fight can last several minutes, so be patient and keep your team alive.

Defeating Xenolord and Hatching the Egg

Once Xenolord's health bar reaches zero, it will collapse and drop a glowing Huge Dark Egg. This is your prize. Pick it up immediately, it can despawn if left on the ground.

Now you need an Incubator. Place the egg inside and adjust the temperature setting. The regular Xenolord egg requires high heat (place campfires or heaters nearby); the Ultra egg requires extreme cold (use coolers or ice-based structures). Incubation takes roughly two to three real-world hours on standard settings. You can speed this up with heated or cooled rooms.

When the incubation timer finishes, a level 1 Xenolord will hatch. Congratulations, you now have your very own raid boss Pal. Note that Xenolord cannot be used on the Summoning Altar again. If you want multiple copies, you must repeat the entire fragment farming and raid process, or explore breeding options.

Using Xenolord, Mount, Partner Skill, and Breeding

Xenolord is more than a trophy. Its Partner Skill, Meteor Wings, allows it to be ridden as a flying mount, giving you incredible mobility across the Palpagos Islands. Even better, while riding or simply in your party, it boosts the Partner Skill damage of any weapon-wielding Pals by 20 to 50 percent, scaling with Xenolord's level. This makes it a top-tier support Pal for combat teams.

Its base stats are solid: Health 130, Attack 120, Defense 120, and a Gathering Lv 2 Work Suitability. It has no wild spawns, so the one you hatch is your only source unless you breed it.

Breeding is possible once you have at least one Xenolord. The exact combos are still being refined by the community, but common pairings include Xenolord with Vanwyrm or Blazamut Ryu. Experiment with your own pairs, or consult community resources to produce additional Xenolords without repeating the raid.

If you want the ultimate challenge, aim for the Xenolord Ultra variant. It drops better Ancient Technology Parts and has a higher chance of producing Pals with perfect IVs. The Ultra slab requires fragments from the hardest expeditions, but the rewards are worth the effort.

Soaring with Xenolord: The Final Reward

Obtaining Xenolord is the ultimate test of your Palworld progression. From unlocking the Expedition Station and grinding fragments, to mastering the raid and hatching the egg, each step demands careful preparation. Once you have this dark dragon on your side, you gain a formidable flying mount and a powerful party buffer. Follow this pipeline, and soon you will be soaring across the islands on Xenolord's Meteor Wings. Good luck, and happy hunting.
