How to Find the Autumn Takashiro Region Treasure Chest in Forza Horizon 6
The Autumn Takashiro Region Treasure Chest sits in east Takashiro at a small roadside rest area ringed by tall pampas grass, beside a small pond, southeast of the Soni Circuit and southwest of the Okishinaimura Run street race. Drive there, smash the chest, and you collect 100,000 CR, 5,000 XP, and three Festival Playlist points.
One thing worth knowing before you set off: this chest is only live during the Autumn season of the "Horizon Meets" series, so grab it before the season rolls over. Note also that the location is a community-verified consensus rather than a first-party confirmation, cross-check the pond and pampas grass against the in-game photo before committing to the drive.
What You Need
You do not need much to pull this off. The requirements are simple:
- Forza Horizon 6 on Windows or Xbox Series X/S, updated to the "Horizon Meets" series build.
- The Autumn season active in your game. The treasure hunt is a weekly Festival Playlist activity and disappears when the season changes.
- Access to the Takashiro region, which sits in the northern part of the Japan map just south of the snow-covered Sotoyama region.
- Any car you can drive off-road in. The approach runs through fields and unpaved rest-area ground, so a rally or off-road build saves you time.
There is no specific level, car class, or unlock required beyond reaching the region. If you can drive there, you can complete it.
Step 1: Open the Treasure Hunt in the Festival Playlist
Start by confirming the hunt is active in your current season.
- Go to Main Menu > Festival Playlist > Current Season > Treasure Hunt.
- Read the clue text: "Follow the Photo Clue to Discover the Treasure!"
- Study the photo. The two visual tells are the tall pampas grass and the small pond at an open roadside rest area. Those two features are what you are matching on the map.
- Note the reward preview (100,000 CR, 5,000 XP, three Playlist points) so you know the hunt is registered as active.
If the Treasure Hunt tile is not showing, your season has likely rotated, and you will need to wait for Autumn to return.
Step 2: Drive to East Takashiro and Use Soni Circuit as Your Anchor
Ignore vague "middle of the region" descriptions. The reliable landmark here is the Soni Circuit, not a compass direction, guides disagree on whether the chest sits east, southeast, or south-west Takashiro, so navigate by the circuit and the pond rather than by the map's compass.
- Set a route to the Soni Circuit, in the eastern half of the Takashiro region.
- Approach the Soni Circuit entrance travelling west-to-east, so the turn-off comes up on your right-hand side.
- If you are coming from the Okishinaimura Run street race instead, the chest lies to the north-east of it. The two landmarks bracket the same spot.
Step 3: Take the Winding Road and Turn Into the Pampas Grass
Once you are past the circuit, the route narrows down quickly.
- Just past the Soni Circuit entrance, turn right down the winding road.
- Follow it until you reach fields of long pampas grass, then take a left into the dirt pull-off that opens between the grass. Slow down here. The grass hides the chest and the rest area's boundaries, so you can easily drive past the turn at speed.
- Watch for the small pond. The rest area sits right next to it.
Step 4: Find the Rest Area and Smash the Chest
- Look for the rest area on your left as you move through the grass, near the pond.
- The chest is a standard breakable treasure chest. Drive into it at speed to smash it.
- Confirm the rewards pop: 100,000 CR, 5,000 XP, and three Season/Festival Playlist points.
- If nothing appears, you are likely in the wrong season or at the wrong rest area. Re-check the photo clue against the pond and grass.
Step 5: Bank the Points Toward the Series Milestone Cars
The three Playlist points count toward the Autumn "Horizon Meets" milestones. The thresholds below are cumulative across the season, and the chest's three points are already included in that total:
| Points | Reward |
|---|---|
| 20 | DeBerti Ford Mustang GT 2018 |
| 40 | Nissan 370Z 2010 |
Check your Playlist progress after smashing the chest so you know how many points you still need for each car.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
A few recurring errors trip players up on this hunt.
- Confusing Treasure Hunts with Treasure Cars. Treasure Cars are a separate, permanent photo-clue collectible system (Series 6 includes a seasonal 1970 Citroën 2CV). This hunt is a weekly Festival Playlist chest, not a Treasure Car.
- Expecting a wheat field. At least one outlet describes the spot as a wheat field. The in-game photo and most guides show pampas grass at a rest area by a pond. Look for tall grass, not crops.
- Hunting in the wrong season. The chest only exists during Autumn. If the season has rotated, the hunt is gone until it returns.
- Blowing past the turn. The left turn into the pampas grass comes up fast after the winding road. Approach slowly.
After the Chest: Finish the Rest of the Autumn Playlist
With the chest banked, you are three points closer to the milestone cars. From here, the sensible move is to stay in the region while you are already up north.
Complete the other Autumn seasonal events to push toward 20 and 40 points for the DeBerti Mustang GT and Nissan 370Z. Sweep the Takashiro region for its other collectibles while you are in the area. If you missed this chest entirely, watch for the hunt to cycle back, and check the previous week's Ito Region chest if it is still live.
The Horizon Meets series is a limited-time playlist, so check the current season and remaining window in your Festival Playlist to confirm how long you have to clear everything before it closes.
