The quick answer: this Ghost of Yōtei trophy guide starts with the base game's 54 trophies. PowerPyx breaks them down as 1 Platinum, 2 Gold, 7 Silver and 44 Bronze (IGN counts 3 Gold and 43 Bronze; all.gg counts 2 Gold, 6 Silver and 45 Bronze), and guide trackers rate it roughly a 3/10 with a 50 to 70 hour platinum. Nothing is missable. Story, bounties, camps and collectibles can all be finished in free-roam after the credits. Since the Complete Edition launched on October 1, 2026, the full project also covers Echoes of Sekigahara (12 trophies), Most Wanted (11 trophies) and the free Legends co-op mode, each with its own separate list. This Ghost of Yōtei trophy guide walks you through all of it in order.
What you need before you start
- Ghost of Yōtei on PS5. The Complete Edition ($69.99, or a $14.99 upgrade for existing owners) bundles the base game, Echoes of Sekigahara, Most Wanted and Legends. If you're starting fresh, the upgrade path is the cheaper way in.
- Patch 2.008 (October 23, 2026) or later. According to guide-tracker reports, it addressed Echoes of Sekigahara progression blockers and reduced currency costs for aesthetic dye trade routes. Do not start the DLC on an older build.
- No difficulty requirement. No difficulty-related trophy appears in the published list, so you can chase the platinum on Casual if you want a smoother ride.
- PS Plus only for Legends. The online co-op trophies need a subscription. Everything in the base game, Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted is single-player.
- Time. PowerPyx estimates 50 to 70 hours for the base platinum. A Stratege user average of about 69 hours sits inside that window.
One thing to keep in mind: the trophy counts throughout this guide (31 Bounties, 22 camps, 61 Altars) are guide-tracker figures from PowerPyx, not official Sucker Punch numbers. The same applies to any trophy name below that Sucker Punch has not formally published.

Step 1: Play the story first and let the Bronze trophies come to you
Most Bronze trophies are automatic story unlocks. The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Dragon, The Spider, The Woman Behind the Mask, Twin Wolves and Wrath of the Onryō all pop as you push the main tale. The Onryō Rests (Gold) unlocks when you finish the story, so the campaign alone clears a large chunk of the list with zero effort.
Don't stop to grind collectibles mid-story. Nothing is missable, so finish the campaign and return in free-roam with your full toolkit.
The exception worth watching is the three Sensei Tales lines: Way of the Yari, Way of the Kusarigama and Way of the Odachi. Each is a Silver trophy and they're easy to leave half-finished, so check your journal before you move regions.
Step 2: Clear the big activity trophies in free-roam
Once the credits roll, the map opens up and you can sweep activities at your own pace.
- Master Bounty Hunter (Gold): complete all 31 Bounties. None are missable, so hunt them down after the story.
- For the Living (Silver): clear all 22 Yōtei Six Camps.
- Body, Mind, and Spirit (Silver): complete all 15 Bamboo Strikes, all 16 Hot Springs and all 13 Shrine Climbs. Shrine Climbs also hand out the Golden Mask cosmetic and a charm each.
- Takezo duel trophy: clear all 6 Dueling Trees, then complete the Takezo the Unrivalled Mythic Tale ("The Five Teachings") to face him at the peak of Mount Yōtei.
- For All Occasions: collect all 12 Armor sets. One comes from completing all 16 Hot Springs, another from meeting a boy named Taro.
| Trophy | Type | Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Master Bounty Hunter | Gold | All 31 Bounties |
| The Onryō Rests | Gold | Finish the story |
| For the Living | Silver | All 22 Yōtei Six Camps |
| Body, Mind, and Spirit | Silver | 15 Bamboo Strikes, 16 Hot Springs, 13 Shrine Climbs |
| Moments of Reflection | Silver | 30 of 61 Altars of Reflection |
| Way of the Yari / Kusarigama / Odachi | Silver | One per Sensei Tales line |
Step 3: Hunt the collectible trophies with the right counts
This is where most players waste hours. The map has more collectibles than the trophies actually demand, so track the real numbers.
- Moments of Reflection (Silver): only 30 of the 61 Altars of Reflection are needed. Pray by swiping down on the touchpad.
- An Artist's Eye: 18 Sumi-e paintings exist, but only the 15 open-world ones count. Skip the 3 quest-related paintings.
- Trickster Fox: all 12 Nine Tails' Puzzle Boxes, every one of them in the snowy Teshio Ridge region.
- Like Mother, Like Daughter: find all 8 Shamisen Songs.
- Guardian of Inari: 11 Fox Dens plus the golden fox mask at the Hunting Camp Hideout.
- Wolves of Ezo: 10 Wolf Dens.
- Child of the Mountain: solve all 5 Mountain Reliquary puzzles for the trophy, the fully upgraded Charm of Mount Yōtei and Yōtei cosmetics.
If you're cross-referencing locations, a completed Ghost of Yōtei map with every region unlocked makes the sweep far quicker than hunting fog-of-war blind.
Step 4: Finish Echoes of Sekigahara's 12 trophies
The DLC adds 12 Bronze trophies, all unmissable, set in the new Ashoro Foothills region. If you want the full breakdown of the expansion's content, our Ghost of Yotei DLC guide covers everything new. Work through it in this order:
- Update to patch 2.008 before you enter Ashoro Foothills. Patch 2.008 specifically targeted progression blockers in Echoes of Sekigahara, so update before you enter Ashoro Foothills.
- Secure all 4 Viper Storehouses (Food for the People). These are the DLC's main objective chain; clear them first because the storehouses anchor the region's questline.
- Discover 4 new recipes (Hungry for More). Hungry for More is earned by completing the 'Cooking with Heart' quest.
- Buy every dye trade route from the Colorful Dye Merchant (Paths to Color). Do this after updating, since the patch reduced the currency costs.
- Free the Golden Bird from captivity (Free Bird). Defeat all enemies in a camp in the Akan Woodlands and free the caged Golden Bird.
- Win 3 games of Zeni Hajiki at Fortune's Asobiya (Mother of Misfortune). Complete the 'A Mother's Love' quest, which has you win three games of Zeni Hajiki against a formidable opponent at Fortune's Asobiya.
- Trigger the combat trophies deliberately. Handsome Yet Deadly, Pack Hunter, Return to Sender and Not This Time are quick if you set up each ability in a fight instead of hoping they happen.
Step 5: Run Most Wanted for its 11 trophies
Most Wanted is a single-player roguelike mode with four playable characters, including Jin Sakai Returns in Ghost of Yōtei's survival mode with all four of his Tsushima stances.
- Choose from six bounties, each culminating in a battle against one of the Yōtei Six bosses.
- Spend Mon between runs on permanent upgrades. Spend Mon outside runs on techniques, weapon upgrades, charms and character unlocks; that permanent progression makes tougher bounties easier.
- Save the Max Threat target for last (Masterful Payout, Silver). Attempt it only after you've bought several rounds of upgrades.
- Lord Saito is the final and hardest bounty in Most Wanted.
- Update before you start. Patch 2.006 reportedly fixed bugs affecting Most Wanted progress, so install it first if you played earlier builds.
Step 6: Take the Legends co-op trophies last
Legends arrived free on March 10, 2026 with four classes (Samurai, Archer, Mercenary, Shinobi), 2-player Story, 4-player Incursions and Survival, and a 4-player Raid against the Dragon and Lord Saito. Our Ghost of Yotei Legends Multiplayer breakdown covers how the mode works.
Online play needs PS Plus, and the mode's trophies are a separate list from the base platinum. Patch 2.006 reportedly fixed invisible Legends cosmetics, so update before grinding class cosmetics. Do Legends last: it's the only part of the project that depends on other players.
If something goes wrong
- Softlocked in Echoes of Sekigahara: Confirm you're on patch 2.008 or later, which specifically targeted Echoes of Sekigahara progression blockers.
- A bounty or camp won't register as complete:
- A co-op trophy won't pop: Confirm your PS Plus subscription is active, since online play requires it.
Common mistakes that cost hours
- Grinding all 61 Altars of Reflection. Only 30 count for Moments of Reflection, so you can stop at 30.
- Chasing all 18 Sumi-e paintings. The 3 quest-related ones don't count for An Artist's Eye.
- Starting Echoes of Sekigahara on an old build and hitting a progression softlock. Patch 2.008 specifically targeted these.
- Buying dye trade routes before 2.008. The patch reduced currency costs, so you'd be overpaying.
- Assuming the DLC trophies feed the base platinum. They don't. The 54 base trophies are a separate list from Echoes, Most Wanted and Legends.
Ghost Rewards pins and the long tail after the platinum
PlayStation's Ghost Rewards program added a fox plush and two trophy pins on October 1, unlocked by earning Yōtei trophies. Check the Ghost Rewards site for the current wave and claim anything you've unlocked while it's live, since these sets rotate.
If you're starting from zero, buy the Complete Edition upgrade rather than the DLC pieces separately.
