007 First Light: How to Enter Room 207 and Complete the 'Do Disturb' Challenge

Route 1: The Guard Distraction

This route starts from the main corridor on the third floor, where a security guard stands at the entrance to the hallway leading to Room 207. To get past him, you can create a distraction by breaking the suit of armor sitting on the left side of the corridor entrance. Be sure no other NPCs are watching, or the guard will investigate you instead.

Once the guard moves to inspect the noise, slip past him and proceed to the far end of the hallway. Look for a large window. Hang over the edge and drop to a lower balcony where a couple is arguing. While hanging from the edge, shimmy along the balcony’s railing to avoid detection. When you reach the side of Room 207’s balcony, climb up and vault onto it.

The final step is to kick the balcony door open. This alerts the man inside, but the challenge is already triggered the moment you enter. This method requires patience and careful timing, but it is a classic stealth approach that keeps you out of sight.

Route 2: The Open Window Shortcut

A faster, more direct approach begins near the suite entrances where two maids are talking. Look for an open window beside the room doors. Vault through it, and you will land on a narrow ledge. Follow the ledge to the right, shimmying along until you reach Room 207’s balcony.

This route bypasses the guard distraction entirely, making it ideal for players who want to minimise risk and save time. It is also quieter, as you never need to break anything or interact with NPCs. Once on the balcony, the same kick to the door gets you inside.

Both routes converge on the same end goal, so choose whichever fits your playstyle. The open window shortcut is generally recommended for speed and reliability.

Quick Tips:Don’t attack the occupant before the challenge registers.Use the open window shortcut for speed.Leave immediately after entry for a Pacifist run.

What to Do Inside Room 207, Handling the Occupant

The moment you kick the balcony door, the “Do Disturb” challenge registers as complete - even before you fully step inside. The man in the room will turn around and confront you. You now have three options:

  1. Use a bluff point, This is a safe, non-violent resolution, but it consumes one of your limited bluff resources.
  2. Shoot a dart, A non-lethal takedown that also costs a resource (a sedation dart).
  3. Leave immediately, Simply turn around and exit the room. If you move quickly enough, you can avoid combat entirely. This is the most resource-efficient option and works well for Pacifist runs.

Importantly, do not attack the occupant before the challenge is registered. Even subduing him from behind while he is still seated will void “Do Disturb.” Wait until you see the challenge pop-up, then decide how to proceed. After the trigger, knocking him out or shooting him has no penalty for the challenge.

Pacifist Run Tips and Rewards for 100% Completion

A Pacifist run in 007 First Light means no kills and no knockouts on civilians. The hotel mission includes many optional objectives that reward non-lethal approaches. For Room 207, the open window shortcut (Route 2) is your best friend. It avoids any confrontation with guards or maids, and it drops you directly on the balcony. After kicking the door, choose “leave immediately” to avoid interacting with the occupant. You can exit through the same balcony door and return the way you came.

This clean entry must be balanced against the rest of the mission’s 27 challenges. Some require distractions, disguise changes, or specific tool usage. The completionist rewards are worth the effort: the Chauffeur uniform is a sleek outfit that allows you to start TacSim missions in a different look, and it is a badge of skill.

Official developer notes regarding Room 207 are sparse, but the community has confirmed that the challenge triggers on entry regardless of whether you are seen or heard after that point. The IO Interactive FAQ clarifies that TacSim unlocks carry over between save files, so completing the 27 challenges once is enough for all subsequent playthroughs.

A Clean Entry for a Clean Run

Entering Room 207 in 007 First Light is a minor but rewarding challenge that teaches the importance of timing and patience. Whether you choose the guard distraction route or the open window shortcut, the key is to reach the balcony without alerting the occupant before the door opens. Once you are inside, the challenge is yours, and the path to the Chauffeur uniform becomes clearer. Master this one step, and you will be well on your way to 100% completion in the Grand Carphatian hotel.
