Star Wars: Galactic Racer: 10 Tips to Beat Kestar Bool
The quick answer: you beat Kestar Bool by treating Star Wars: Galactic Racer as a build game, not just a driving game. Arrive at the Championship Race on Dervon Acos with a Level 15 Skim Speeder, 450+ base speed, at least 7/10 in every stat, the Redliner style at Rank 3, and ramjet-focused parts and abilities. The campaign is runs-based, so expect to lose several Tours while you bank Tuning Points rather than win on your first attempt.
That framing matters because the game is genuinely punishing. Fuse Games, the Guildford studio founded in 2023 by former Criterion and Need for Speed developers, built this as a Burnout-descended arcade racer where one bad line puts you into a wall. If you want context on why the handling feels the way it does, our Star Wars: Galactic Racer review covers that side of it.
These steps apply to the PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC (Steam/Epic) versions, including the quality-of-life update.
What You Need Before the Championship Race
You reach Bool through Act 2's Galactic League events. Before you accept that final race, your garage should look like this:
| Requirement | Target |
|---|---|
| Vehicle | Skim Speeder, Level 15 |
| Base speed | 450 or more |
| Core stats | 7/10 or better in Cornering, Afterburner, Resilience, Ramjet, Battery and your vehicle's drifting style |
| Racer style | Redliner, Rank 3 |
| Key abilities | Flame Vent, Overtaking Surge, Impact Shield |
| Time investment | Several Galactic Tour runs of banked Tuning Points |
Some guides spell the planet "Derven Acos" and some spell it "Dervon Acos." Both refer to the same Championship Race location.
1. Pick the Vehicle That Matches How You Already Drive
At the start of each campaign you choose between three vehicle types. Podracing is restricted to special events, so it is not on the table here.

- Landspeeder: the safest all-rounder, balancing speed and resilience without excelling anywhere.
- Speeder bike: the twitchiest option, with a kart racer-style boost out of every drift, but weaker and prone to running wide in corners.
- Skim speeder: the highest skill ceiling thanks to its Knife Edge ability, which gives tighter control around corners and through narrow passages.
The Skim Speeder is the best pick for the Bool fight specifically. It corners more easily than the other two, and the final race leaves almost no room for error.
2. Unlock Your Abilities Through Tales of Podracing First
Before you spend a single point on parts, do the prerequisite work. Flame Vent, Overtaking Surge and Impact Shield, plus their higher tiers, come from the Tales of Podracing missions offered by Sebulba. Flame Vent is the bread and butter of the Redliner setup, so work those missions early rather than scrambling for abilities right before the final. Every build step below assumes you already have them.
3. Build Around the Ramjet and Commit to Redliner
For pure pace, your endgame is a ramjet-heavy setup backed by ramjet parts and abilities, Flame Vent included.
- Equip the Redliner style at Rank 3. It boosts ramjet power when you push into redlining and widens the redlining zone significantly.
- Unlock Redliner early by holding your thruster through races until the style becomes available, then rank it up to gain the Early Warning trait.
- Support the setup with Extended Alarm, Heated Fuel and Redlining Power.
The redline zone is the danger threshold just before your engine blows, where your thrusters put out maximum power. Widening it means more time at peak output before you have to back off.
4. Specialise Your Racer Style Instead of Covering Every Weakness
Racer styles unlock gradually as you play, so do not try to be a jack-of-all-trades.
Survivor is unlocked by default and focuses on keeping you alive, which makes it a forgiving early pick while you learn the tracks. Once you know your preferred lines, switch to a style that amplifies your strength rather than patching a weakness. Spreading your resources thin is the most common way to stall out in the Galactic League.
5. Bank Tuning Points Across Runs and Scenarios
At the start of each new Galactic Tour you can spend Tuning Points to raise base stats, up to 15 times, one per level. The order of operations matters:

- Spread points evenly until every core stat reaches the 7/10 threshold in the table above.
- Once those thresholds are met, put every remaining point into Ramjet.
Fully upgrading most stats takes multiple Tour runs, so treat early losses as investment rather than failure. If you want to speed that up, run Scenarios: short five-race tournaments where you pilot the game's rivals, rewarding extra Tuning Points you feed straight back into your main ride.
6. Respect Kestar Bool's Aggression on Dervon Acos
Bool is a snarky, conniving champion who races aggressively. If you sit side-by-side with him, he will shunt you.

Prioritise shield integrity in close quarters, or fire a Kinetic Burst to create distance before he forces a collision. Save your best driving for the Championship Race itself. The runs-based structure means you likely will not win first time, and one bad line into a wall ends the attempt outright.
If the whole structure still feels opaque, Fuse Games' own Game Tactics post explains how the runs-based loop works in practice.
7. Manage League Entry Tokens and Pick Your Events
The Galactic Tour is runs-based. Every win earns Galactic Credits, while crashing out or failing to place top-three can reset your current tour progress, so a careless entry can cost you a run's worth of banked progress.
Pick events that suit your build rather than chasing every payout on the map, and keep your Backers happy between races. Fuse Games' own Rivals and Backers post is the best primer on that side of the League, and the Game Tactics piece covers the on-track side.
8. Use Favors to Cover the Final Race
Build guides for the Championship Race recommend the Favors Mad Genius, Fan Club and Team Vranki, alongside a longer parts list that includes Heat Reduction, Optimized Radiators, Ramjet Cooling, Surging Alarm and Redline Purge. Treat Favors as part of your build, not a bonus, but don't stall a run chasing one: the same guides note you can realistically make any Favors work.
9. Learn the Perfect Start, but Don't Obsess Over It
At the race start, keep your throttle inside the middle section of the meter. The window shifts depending on your vehicle, so the reliable method is to hold the needle in that band and adjust your timing race by race. Missing the window costs you a small launch boost, nothing more.
Because the boost is minor compared to what you would expect from a kart racer, practice it mainly if your parts and abilities grant perfect-start bonuses.
10. Treat a Lost Run as Progress, Not Failure
This is the mental shift that separates players who finish the campaign from players who stall in Act 2. Tuning Points banked from Tours and Scenarios are your real progress. The credits and placements reset; the upgrades do not.
Common Mistakes That Cost You the Championship
- Attempting the Bool fight with an unupgraded vehicle. Without Level 15, 450+ base speed and 7/10 stats you are giving the race away before it starts.
- Splitting points across every stat and style instead of committing to the ramjet and Redliner synergy.
- Treating a lost run as a failure when the banked Tuning Points are the actual reward.
- Ignoring Bool's shunting in side-by-side moments and losing shield integrity before the final straight.
After Bool: What Act 3 Changes
The Championship Race against Kestar Bool is the climax of Act 2, and winning it brings new consequences that carry into Act 3. The details below are spoilers.
Bool captures Darius Pax, declares himself League Commissioner and introduces podracers to defend his title. Keep farming Scenarios for Tuning Points: they are short five-race tournaments where you pilot the game's rivals and reward extra Tuning Points for your main ride. If you play multiplayer Tours, the quality-of-life update addressed online party size, mouse and keyboard feedback, and bug fixes.
