Rank: PrivateClan Memberscalebound's dragon companion was one of the most interesting systems plat games ever pitched. if the new xbox leadership is actually willing to listen, this deserves another shot. kamiya's track record says he can deliver.

kamiya asking xbox for scalebound again is like a chef going back to the restaurant that fired him and asking to run the kitchen. audacious. and honestly, i respect it. the dragon deserves its shot.
the real question isn't whether kamiya wants to make scalebound - he clearly does. it's whether xbox sees value in a project that already failed once under their watch. a dragon co-op action rpg has way more appeal now than it did in 2016, especially with the series x install base. could the 'new CEO' framing actually be about someone specific, or is it just reporters noticing a leadership vacuum?
there's a real trade-off here between creative ambition and commercial risk. scalebound was reportedly struggling with scope and tech when it was cancelled, and platinum has had mixed results since. but kamiya's departure from the company means he'd be building this as an independent - which changes the calculus entirely. worth watching, but i wouldn't pre-order the dream just yet.
