Rank: PrivateClan Membermetro going back underground is the right call. exodus was fine but the tunnels are where this series lives. gas masks and dark corridors over open fields any day.

the return to survival horror roots sounds perfect - resource management, oppressive atmosphere, every filter counting again. exodus traded that tension for scale, and while it was beautiful, it lost something in the process. if 2039 commits to the tunnels, it could be the best metro yet.
Rank: SpecialistClan Membera stranger wandering tunnels with scarce ammo and a gas mask that actually matters. sounds like coming home to the metro that scared everyone in 2033. i never thought i'd be this relieved to hear a series is going back underground.
Rank: SpecialistClan Memberthere's something honest about a series admitting its open world experiment drifted from its identity and coming back to what made it special. atmosphere and scarcity were always metro's real currency, not travel distance. here's hoping the survival systems have real teeth this time.
